Your Financial Picture
Start by identifying what you own and what you owe. Your Wealth Snapshot will organize your financial information into two categories: assets and liabilities. Once entered, these figures can help you calculate your estimated net worth and better understand your overall financial position. Use your own estimates, and remember that your information should remain private.
Assets-What You Own
Assets represent the things you own that have financial value. Include your checking and savings balances, retirement accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, real estate, vehicles, and other valuable property. Enter your best estimates of current values. The goal is to understand the resources you have available to support your financial future.
Cash & Savings
Record the money you currently have available in checking accounts, savings accounts, cash reserves, and emergency funds. Use your latest approximate balances to build a clear picture of your available financial resources. Your information should remain private; do not enter account numbers or other sensitive personal details.
Retirement & Investments Accounts
Include the approximate current value of your retirement and investment accounts, such as employer-sponsored 401(k) plans, traditional or Roth IRAs, brokerage accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and ETFs. Use estimates rather than account numbers or login information. This helps you understand how your investments contribute to your overall financial picture.
Real Estate & Property
Enter the estimated current market value of real estate you own, including your primary residence, rental properties, vacant land, and other investment properties. If a property has an outstanding mortgage, enter its estimated full market value here. We’ll account for the remaining mortgage separately under liabilities to avoid double-counting your debt.
Vehicles & Valuable Property
Include the estimated current market value of vehicles you own, such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. You may also include valuable equipment, jewelry, collectibles, and other personal property with meaningful resale value. Use realistic resale estimates rather than original purchase prices, and exclude anything you have already counted in another category.
Business Ownership & Other Assets
Include the estimated value of businesses you own or have an ownership interest in, along with business equipment, machinery, intellectual property, and other valuable assets not already listed. Use a reasonable estimate of current market value, not simply the amount of money invested. Avoid counting the same asset twice.
Liabilities – What You Owe
Liabilities represent the outstanding balances you owe to lenders, financial institutions, and other creditors. Include your mortgages, vehicle loans, credit cards, personal loans, student loans, and other outstanding debts. Enter the remaining balances rather than the original amounts borrowed. This will help calculate your estimated net worth more accurately.
Mortgage & Real Estate Debt
Enter the remaining balances on mortgages, second mortgages, home equity loans, and other real estate-related borrowing. Include outstanding debt on primary residences, rental properties, vacant land, and other properties you own. Use the current unpaid balance rather than the original loan amount.
Vehicle Loan & Auto Debt
Enter the remaining balances on vehicle loans, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles. Include any outstanding financing on vehicles you own. Use the current unpaid loan balance, not the original purchase price or loan amount. If your vehicle is paid off, there is no loan balance to include.
Credit Cards & Personal Loans
Enter the outstanding balances on credit cards, personal loans, personal lines of credit, and other unsecured borrowing. Include balances from all financial institutions and lenders. Use the current amount owed, including any outstanding interest or fees reflected in your latest balance. This category helps show how much of your financial resources is committed to debt repayment.
Student Loans & Education Debt
Enter the remaining balances on federal student loans, private student loans, and other education-related borrowing. Include loans for undergraduate studies, graduate programs, and career training. Use the current outstanding balance rather than the original amount borrowed. This helps provide a more complete picture of your financial obligations.
Business Loans & Other Debt
Enter outstanding balances on business loans, business lines of credit, equipment financing, and other business-related borrowing. Include personal guarantees or business obligations only once, and avoid counting the same debt in multiple categories. Use the current unpaid balance to help build an accurate picture of your financial obligations.
Other Outstanding Obligations
Include other outstanding financial obligations that have not been listed in the previous categories. These may include unpaid medical bills, tax debts, court-ordered financial obligations, outstanding utility balances, and other amounts you are legally responsible for paying. Use current outstanding balances and avoid entering the same obligation more than once.

Your financial picture is more than a number. Enter the estimated value of what you own and what you owe to calculate your current net worth. Your results will help you understand where you stand financially and give you a starting point for planning your next move toward building lasting wealth.
Cash and Savings

Retirement & Investment Accounts
Enter the current combined market value of your retirement and investment accounts, including 401(k) plans, traditional and Roth IRAs, stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, bonds, and Treasury securities. Include other investment accounts you own. Use the current account value rather than your original contributions, and do not count the same investment more than once.
